WHAT DO YOU THINK! IS THIS NEW FULL BODY SCAN TECHNOLOGY A NEEDED WEAPON IN THE WAR ON TERROR? OR IS THIS GOING TOO FAR IN VIOLATING THE CIVIL LIBERTIES OF CITIZENS IN THE NAME OF NATIONAL SECURITY? IS THERE OTHER THINGS THAT SHOULD BE DONE TO PROTECT AGAINST TERRORISM? COMMENT BELOW!

Well i actually think that this full new body technology is good because in order to protect civil liberties, you need to protect the civil body by confiscating and searching for any lethal material or weapon that could easily damage a whole plane. By that, i mean in order for us to have national security or any freedom we would all need to be alive because if we are not living then what is the point of any of those securities or liberties? It would just be useless. In order to stop terrorism i would probably suggest that we forget about our rights to freedom when boarding on a plane just for our own safety. I mean i'd rather be exposed and alive than dead and gone from the world we once thought of as a free world.

yes, I agree with Stefanie because i think the body scanner can help us avoid terrorist to get into our country. For a safety life of our country, I am willing to give up my privacy for few minutes to have a body scanner check. so we can keep away from danger and live in safety.

I think the body scanner is a good technology that could helps us to notify any terrorist who wants to invade to our countries, so the polices could arrest them as fast as they can. i think i am willing to give up my little privacy for a higher safety life. if we don't have a safe circumstances, if our lives is threat by the terrorist, if we lost our life for the tiny privacy, then how my civil liberties works. as a citizens in U.S., people should also contribute something to the government, not only expected the government could did everything without any citizens‘ help.

I personally think that this full body scanner is needed and it is not violating any civil rights. I mean, think about it. It’s not like this scanner will expose you fully, it only exposes any materials or metallic objects that are may be under your clothes— objects that should not be brought in any airports. The body scanner is not as if an individual will be stripped down and be exposed showing private parts, the scanner may show the body but then so what? We all know how we look like, there are only 2 types of gender in this world and it is male or female. We all know females have breasts and vaginas and males have penises. We see it every single day. The person operating the body scan may see the body BUT THEN AGAIN SO WHAT? Just move on with your life. It’ s not like anyone is touching you, that’s worse, it’ s just a SCAN. If this body scan can protect hundreds, thousands, and millions of people from being killed then yes it is necessary and no it is not going too far. Too far would be being completely nude and being touched.

I don't believe that the scanner is a total waist for it can be effective for those who may be a terror threat. However is the case of ever-day folk I think it is a bit extreme. As a person who's gone through the device on several occasion I can say that it's awkward to stand there with your hands up in the air like you're being arrested. I also think that a device like that should only be placed at Airports who have international flights.

The body scanner is a good idea because imagine what happens if we didn't have it. Like Mr. Jocz said plastic guns and steel scalpels snuck on planes. Yet I believe we have to stop here. The next step is bringing proof of American citzenship , my car insurance, high school diploma and a list of all the places I've been in the past 24 hours. - Orlando per.5

I think the body scanners are cool as long as the pictures don't go public. I've never been on an airplane myself, but if I had to give up my privacy for 6 minutes in order to save lives in the long run I would. In the name of national security lives are being protected and I think colorful nude pics are a fair trade off. Terrorism can be ended by extending the freedoms of the world, by creating a world where no one is oppressed and everyone can achieve happiness no matter their race, social standing, religious beliefs, ect.

I think that when it comes down to someone's safety, their privacy shouldn't be much of an issue because that person's life, and the lives of other individuals are at stake. What would a person prefer, being safe or keeping their privacy? Of coarse their safety. However, security issues like the machines in airports should have limits.
